How to get on Elba Island

During summer season car ferries leave from Piombino to Portoferraio almost hourly. There are also a couple of daily ferries for Porto Azzurro and Rio Marina. The shipping companies are Toremar and Moby.
The crossing Piombino-Portoferraio takes one hour.

Recently a new "fast" boat carrying a limited number of cars is in service.

A hydrofoil service (no cars), which arrives only in Portoferraio, takes 35 minutes.
